Draft at Bockbierfestival Utrecht 2024. Color: Hazy reddish brown, beige head. Aroma: Caramel malt. Taste: Caramel malt, green hop backbone, hints of liquorice and smoke. Some spicy Rye(?). Quite a lot of caramel. Just above medium body, average carbonation.

Bottle at home. Reddish color, small off-white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, moderately sweetish for a bock, a bit bitter even. Not too bad for a bock indeed.

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before August 2026. Almost clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, raisins and nuts. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity and a little spicy taste of caramel, nuts, honey, raisins and some chocolate, followed by a short, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant, tasty Bock, nice spicyness from the rye, good balance.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een roodbruin bier met een medium schuimkraag. Het heeft een rokerige geur. De smaak is rokerig en kruidig.

Taster flight @ the source. Pours a mostly clear deep amber colour and a dense off white head. Aroma's: malty, red fruit, caramel. Retronasal: sweet, red fruit/peardrops. Flavour is rather sweet. Medium bodied. A bit too sweet for the style.

Re-rate with a bottle (as Roggenbock), tht 15-10-2026 (enjoyed 18-01-2025). Pours a clear ruby brown body and a dense light beige head with long retention. Aroma's: malts and red fruit, retronasal it's sweet, red fruit. Flavour : above moderate malty sweet, brown sugar. Medium bodied. Finishes with some caramel and light bitterness. Moving up from 6.1 to 6.8.
