1480 is a beer that appeals to everyone. A complex, malty body that a Belgian beer would envy, supported with a truly American quantity of hops that provide a mouthful of juicy flavor and a mild amount of bitterness.

On-tap at the BlackLab brewhouse on 8th July 2016 with the RBESG guys. Slight misty body, amber in colour, off white head on top. Malts lead the aroma stakes with a herbal trace or two amongst the light malty molasses smell. More bitter than the nose suggests, this is a nicely balanced brew with the malts sweetness kept in check by some good bittering hoppiness.

Tap at Black Lab. Slight hazy amber with off white head. Light roasted malts, bitter herbs, chicory, light caramel, lime peel. Light sweet and quite bitter. Medium bodied with a bit thin feel. Bit too bitter for me.

17.08. 2015, tap @ BlackLab, Barcelona:
Nice slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is kind of strange foresty, old rotten leafs, minerals, old hops, bark, soil, grain, old lawn. Taste is slightly harsh foresty, old leafs, soil, old hops, light malts, weeds, bark, grain. Longlasting bitterness, harsh mouthfeel. More like an English pale ale I’d say. Meh!
