Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Bottle from BottleDog, Edinburgh. Black body with a thick beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of chocolate ice-cream, vanilla pods, Coco Pops and a hint of rum. Flavour of winter berries, milk chocolate and filter coffee. Medium body with a sleek, oily mouthfeel. Soft prickle of carbonation. A sumptuous beer.

Bottle. Black beer with a strong brown coloured head. The aroma is chocolaty and milky with gentle roastedness. The flavour is roasted and bitter with a milky and creamy feel. Overall a nice smoothly flavoured stout with good bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11.5 oz bottle poured into a Bruery tulip. Labeled as Aphrodite. Batch code 62 or 63, bought in mid-2014. Dark brownish black with a finger of tan head. Aromas of cocoa, dark chocolate, bits of vanilla. Tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, light vanilla. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Amazing flavors especially for under 7% ABV.

Very perfect head and black body in a glass. Sweet coffee aroma with barley hints and wood. Flavour is Starbucks style frappucino with sweet notes and a chocolatey finish. Very good drinkable stout.
