One of the earliest examples of Russian Imperial Stouts in the United States, Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with aging in mind.

A huge malt body is matched with a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruit and other aromas. The flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages in your cellar.

13/6/2020. Bottle courtesy of Nisse666, cheers Thomas. Pours black with a bubbly tan coloured head. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, dark fruit, tobacco, hint of smoke and liquorice. Light sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium to full body, creamy smooth texture, soft carbonation. Smooth and bitter finish. Enjoyable all round.

Sampled from the tap at First Draft Minneapolis. Pours near black with an earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark grains and roast with a bit of chocolate and a hint of dark fruits underlying. Flavor has sweet dark grains and chocolate with dark fruits and a slightly bitter roast supporting.

Bottle from Whole Foods, pours opaque black with thick tan head. Full bodied. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate and plums. Complex taste is rich chocolate, licorice and molasses, burnt malt. Decadent, syrupy mouthfeel. Lingering bitter chocolate finish. Superb!

Bottle at tasting, thanks Jonno. Dark brown, hardly no head. Aroma is booze, fudge, bit roasty, oaty, porridge. Taste is very nice. Nice dryness, dark chocolate, wheaty, something savoury. 3rd LCRBM. Licorice, apple and roast in the aroma. Sugary sweet roasted flavor with grapes. Licorice in the aftertaste. Good, but not a world classic.
