The dark member of the Švyturys traditional collection which has been brewed since 1965. Awarded multiple times worldwide, the dark red Švyturio Baltijos beer stands outs for its flavour of roasted malt, caramel and brown bread. It has a profound sweetness of malt with a light aftertaste of dried plums and chocolate.

It is a regular beer, average, industrial side, malty, toffee, some hop, a bit watery and metalic, a classical, 16.07.18 from one Russian shop Paris, tasting it at Prélaz.

Amber pour. Thin foamy head around the glass. Wood and pecan flavor with malt palate. Light bodied and light carbonation. Even lace all over the glass.

Candied pecan nose. Ruby brown, medium cream colored head. Wood, light malt sweetness, subtle fruit highlights. Medium body, soft carbonation. Not for Maerzen purists, but it's an interesting beer.

[568ml can from my local Londis store.] A dark amber pour with a cream coloured head; aroma of malt and caramel; sweet fruity caramel taste; then a drier finish with some chocolate malts, a light bitterness and a lingering aftertaste of plums. Rather good.

Servida en jarra. Color ámbar, algo turbio, espuma beige claro, bien retenida.
