Brewed each spring to celebrate our brewery’s annual day off to go morel mushroom hunting, this excitingly hazy double IPA is a tribute to our love of great hops and morels. Created with a combination of Pacific Northwest and Southern Hemisphere hops, Scorpius Morchella is meant to be shared with friends on a warm spring afternoon.

Hazy yellow with a frothy white head that soon fades. Aroma full of stink cheese, grapefruit, floral notes. Taste is quite bitter, full of citric bitterness. An acidic bite carries the finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Unique with a few rough edges.

Draught @ Ginger Man, NY. Clear golden with large foamy off-white head, sharp lemon-unripe mango aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter unripe mango-lemon peel taste, pineapple flavor, thin body, long bitter finish. Juicy.

Can at Beer Culture, 6/18/19. Fully hazy golden-orange, white head, strong lace. Floral and citrus, bit of mango. Peach notes as well. Fairly dry. Solid stuff. Improves as it warms. 8/4/8/4/16

Draft at Half Barrel. Pours hazy burnt orange color with white head. Aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. Grapefruit, mango, and pineapple flavors with some pine. Medium body with average carbonation.

Sampler at Toppling Goliath event for Philly Beer Week. Opaque yellow orange, looks like grapefruit juice. Citrus aroma, strong grapefruit hops taste with some smoke underneath. Smoky bitter finish.

Pours a very hazy, soft banana-yellow, with mid-sized, lasting head. Aroma is very green, with a strong element of onion, notes of citrus and tropical fruits, and pine/spruce hops. Flavor follows, with a rather pronounced bitterness in the forefront. Finish is very piney. Good, but maybe could use some more balance?
