Off-white head, with a dark brown body. Caramel and roasted malt aromas. Lots of roasted malts in the taste along with the bitter chocolate and the coffee. Noticable hops in the taste as well. More bitter than most stouts are methinks. I expected more, but I got something respectable.

Draught@Porterhouse, London. Black colour, mediumsized brown creamy and thick head. Aroma is roasted malts, very dark chocolate and some caramel. Flavour is big roasted malts, some dark chocolate and strong coffee and fudge. Really wellbalanced and pleasant to drink. Roasted nice aftertaste.

Solid black appearance with a creamy head. Full flavoured dry stout with the alcohol rearing it’s head amongst the malty, treacle-like taste. Very bitter aftertaste that dries out the pallet very quickly. Not suited for a session.

Draught @ Porterhouse, WC2 London. Dark black color with a creamy light-brown head. Aroma is very light - malty, burnt, dark chocolate. Flavor is harsh bitter dry, burnt, hops. Was served very cooled but did get much better when it was warmed up.

Draught@brew pub, Dublin. Opaque black, good chocolaty brown whisp cream head. Smokey and chocolaty nose. Roasted, licorice flavors. Medium to full-bodied. Like a little brother of Mikkeller’s Breakfast Stout. Long hoppy aftertaste.

Draught at Porterhouse Covent Garden. I am really interested by the division that these beers seem to generate. Some think they are too affected by the nitro keg and taste artificial, some absolutely adore these stouts. I err on the side of the adoration. Sometimes I can have a pint that is a bit listless, but normally I really enjoy the malts, caramels, chocolate and coffees that dominate these beers.

[Draft at Porterhouse, London] A black beer with a fine chocolate brown head. The aroma is roasted with loads of chocolate and malt. The flavor is totally dominated by roasted malt, with hints of acidity. Nice one.

(Cask) Jet black. Dense nitro-like head. Roasted barely; black, leftover coffee aroma. Soft, mild stout-roasted barley, going over imperceptibly in a bitingly bitter, but nice STOUT. Mouthfeel is thick and rich, alcohol prominent. Gets a bit harsh in the end. Prize-stout. Great - beats the Guinnesses.

Very dark brown. Very fresh malts - it’s been a while since I smelled malts this fresh in a stout. Very toasty, rich, pungent nose. Delicious, with some smokey ancho earthy finish.

Dark black with creamy white head. Roasty, smooth and with big bitterness. Similar to, and better than, Guinness.
