XXXX refers to the alcohol level and the depth of flavour in this stout. Our kettle hops drum up a fabulous aroma, flaked barley delivering big time on texture and the darkly roasted grain building a flavour as solid as a rock. Not for the faint hearted. Can you handle it?

Tap @ The Porterhouse, Dublin shared with Niilstrong. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized creamy beige head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, dark malts, roasted malts. Taste malts, roasted malts, dark malts, heavy dark malt bitter, a touch of hop in there as well though the flavor is dominated by malt bitterness. Nice stout!

Dry stout, too bitter in my opinion. But a nice creamy mouthfeel with the nitrogen carbonation. All around slightly above average dry stout. (Nov 2016) A quit bitter version of a stout, but balanced with the strong smoked meat like roast. Surprisingly flavourful and bodied for the lowish abv. online saveaur bier

Super dobry i wytrawny stout w starym stylu. Mimo wytrawnosci i szerokiej gamy chmielowej goryczy czuc palony slod ciemne owoce lesne. Likierowe piwo z chmielona glebia. Wyglad takze super, bezowa piana ladna srednio trwala i czarne ciemna jak bezgwiezdzista noc barwa. super do twardego sera dlugo dojrzewajacego

Bottle at the Jim / John is back tasting, Den Haag, April 2016. Poured almost black with a thin whispy light tan head. The aroma is rich roasty malt, some sweet creamy caramel. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter with a smooth creamy malt, liqourice, light floral hop palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at THT. Almost black with decent sized beige head. Lots of dried fruits, blueberries, dry cocoa powder and coffee dregs, quite some herbal hops and grass. Light sweet and medium bitter. Light bodied with dry watery feel.
