Draft (nitro). Pours a pitch black color with a dense beige head and excellent retention. Excellent lacing too. Very creamy mouthfeel, as expected from the nitro pour. Tastes like a burned Guinness mixed with a bitter black IPA and added alcohol. It looks great but tastes bad. The 7.5 ABV is not hidden.

Pours a near black from a can, light tan head. Toffee and pecan aroma, similar flavor. Good beer

Can pour into tulip glass from Andover Classic Wines. Appearance is dark brown/mahogany--virtually opaque black--with nice sparkle at the edge of the glass, 2-finger width light brown foamy head with good retention and decent soapy lacing. Aroma is moderate roasted malt, citric/fruity hop. Taste is moderate bittersweet roasted malt, mild citrus, minerals. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, average carbonation and dry, mineral/earthy bitter finish over sweet roasted malts. Overall, nice to see LH continue to branch out. This isn't breaking new ground and a little to the dry/bitter side for me, but enjoyable.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a large soapy tan head that lingered and left very good lacing. The aroma was coffee, malt and a bit of floral hops. The flavor was coffee, cream, malt, wood, floral hops and a bit of chocolate.
