Bottle at home. As "Mikkeller Chipotle Porter". Aroma of malt, Chipotle peppers, caramel, chocolate, smoke, roasty notes, some coffee, fruity hoppy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a light to moderate roasty hoppy bitter finish. Slightly creamy. Body is medium to full. Lovely Chilli Porter, good pepper burn and a great Porter beneath the chilli.

Keg at Artut, Östersund. Sold as Mikkeller Chipotle Porter. A gentle porter aroma wirh nice espresso like foam. Taste was pleasant but the aftertaste is where it shined with this wonderful pleasing spicyness. They got that just right.

330 ml bottle. Murky black with a creamy stable brown head. Dry citrus notes, a lot of dried roasted chili, cocoa, burnt malt, ashes, metalRoasty bitterness, quite spicy. Medium bodied, watery texture, soft carbonated, dry bitter with a bold spicy finish. Lacks in body and thus the chili flavor is way too dominant.

Bottle at home. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma: chocolate, burnt coffee, smoke, spices, tobacco. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, toasted malts, dark chocolate, smokey chipotle. Medium body, ample carbonation, lightly warming finish. Prefer Texas to Mexas overall

Bottle, 0.33l. Black pour, three finger frothy brown head. Long lasting, excellent retention. Lots of thick lacing on the glass. Nice on the nose, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee. Mild fruity, figs and forest fruits. Medium body, soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and texture, creamy and chewy, really nice on the palate. Roasty bitter taste, spicy aftertaste. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, coffee. Forest fruits, figs, cocoa. Molasses. Rich and complex. Lingering chilli burn on the tongue, nicely balanced. Long lasting finish, roasty, bitter and spicy. Excellent porter.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours pitch black with a pretty thin, brown head. Aromas of pretty sweet chili, chocolate and leather. Pretty stale-like. Tastes of sweet chili but also a good burned chocolate-like and liquorice taste. Good burned malt.

Tap at Belg Aube Roppongi. Dark brown, dark golden small bubbly head. Looks dangerous and dirty. Aroma is roasty, lots of coffee bitterness, lots of spicy chilli. Taste is nice, coffee bitter initially, spice creeps up at the end to a full on chilli taste. Slightly smoky. Long spice and smoke finish. Got a real bite to it. Exactly what I needed at this stage, a few drinks down the line. But one was definitely enough. --- Beer merged from original tick of Texas Ranger on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 9 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8.
