What you have here is the only Imperial IPA in America inspired by a bowl of soup and a thrift store football game...

Back in the 90’s, Sam was struck by a cooking show demo teaching viewers how to properly season soup through a process of continuous peppering. As it stewed and simmered, the chef added pepper in small but consistent doses, bringing through a unique bold taste and intense savory notes. If it worked for soup, why not beer?! Inspiration sparked and Sam knew that Dogfish needed to bring this idea of continuous dosing to our hop additions in the brewhouse.

Enter our thrift store electric football game. If rigged at just the right angle over the brew kettle, and covered with hops instead of small dancing football players, the vibrating playing field would perfectly shake and shimmy the hops cascading down into the boiling wort at a consistent rate. Continual hopping was born!

Continual hopping provided a beautiful balance to our Imperial IPA - allowing us to add a foolhardy amount of hops throughout the boil without making 90 Minute crushingly bitter. With rich pine and fruity citrus hop aromas and a strong malt backbone, 90 Minute IPA created pungent, unapologetic flavor that led Esquire to call it “perhaps the best IPA in America.”

19-ish oz can from Luekens Wine & Spirits, Seminole. Bright brownish orange, a little hazy with a ring of white head. A little bit of lacing. Huge, huge amount of pine resin in the aroma, pink grapefruit pith, heavy grassy notes. Sweet taste, not quite too sweet, with loads more citrus and pine leading to a balanced finish. Oily body, with carbonation on the low side. Wow.

2 month old can A: Crystal clear deep amber with 1 of long lasting beige foam. S: Orange or grapefruit with piney and woody notes. T: Tart and lightly bitter orange upfront with wood, herbs and caramel following. M: Full body with active carbonation and a drying finish. O: Fairly balanced, just lightly boozy and pretty tasty if a bit sweet.

It came straight from the Florida coast, thank you very much for it! The color is very nice amber, clean, filtered, not cloudy. The head is firm, a little off-white, looks good. The aroma is very good: it reminds me of a mixture of yellow and peach, fruity, fresh, floral, and very intense! Not the fruity IPA aroma you're used to in Europe, somehow more special. Brutally well hopped! Concentrated, full-bodied, yet easy to drink. Bitterness at its maximum, but because of the fruitiness it's almost not noticeable. It's a bit syrupy sweet, and you can feel that it really "hits" you. The aftertaste that remains in the mouth is very good, dried apricots, raisins... They used very good yeast. (The aroma is not the maximum, because it became more yeasty when it warmed up.) An outstanding imperial IPA, I'm glad I got to taste it, maybe it was the best in its category so far. (but even if not, it's still among the best IIPAs)

0,33 bottle. Egyenesen a Floridai tengerpartól érkezett, hálás köszönet érte!

Bottle. This is America. Great, rich, hoppy imperial IPA. Full bodied, slightly boozy. Just anything I'm expecting from something called like this.
