bottle dated 2005.
pours a murky redish brown. Next to no head. Wow, the aroma is out of this world. It’s LOADED with ripe fruit, spice, caramel, candi sugar, and a touchof malt. The flavour is outstanding! Full bodied malty fruitiness, and a great bready cake like flavour, reminds me alot of ound cake. Loads of ripe fruit, and caramel. The 12% is nowhere to be found. Wow, this is a superb brew, i wish i could get this all the time. Outstanding winter warmer.

2012. Aroma of sweet dried fruits, caramel malt, candy sugar, raisins. Flavour is sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Nice sweet and syrupy Barley Wine.

Tap at Winterbierfestival, Gouda: Nice and pretty good Barley Wine. Hazy amber colour that shall be drinked on easy terms. With a load of tastes like: caramel, orange, apple and other things. Oh this is not brewed in Belgium, but in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Vintage 2003. No head. orange brown color. Good lacing. Hops are clearly present, so it must be massively hopped. Sweet flavor with coffee liquor, walnuts, amaretto, caramel and some chocolate. Alcohol is clearly present, but not overwhelming. Very nice beer, already well balanced. It must be something special in 2008 or so. Vintage 2005, tasted 26.12.07. Orange brown color. Malty aroma with notes of old brandy, vegetables and oak. Malty sweet flavor, alcoholic with oak, brandy, mint and grapes. Complex and quite refined in spite of the alcohol. Needs some more cellaring to soften up. No need to change the rating.

Bottle, 11 years past the BBD. Pours cloudy copper brown with very small off-white head. Clear aroma of Belgian yeast, malt and caramel, with fruity notes and touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of yeast and caramel malt, with dusty notes and touches of fruit and roast. Dusty and caramellish aftertaste with estery notes. A nice one.

Bottle from Bierkoning, thanks Eddan. Amber with a small head. Sweetish with malt, dried fruit, brandy, caramel and some warming alcohol. The body was full and the finish long.
