Bottled. Copper-red, with a medium-sized, creamy beige head. Lots of floaties. It has a malty and sweet aroma with some ginger and cardamom. Tastes spicey and sweet malt. The finish is sweet, with some well hidden bitterness, I think it is in generally too sweet, but nice anyway. Rating: 7-4-7-3-14-3.5. 060513

Bottle, 33cl. A clear, brown beer wtih a dense, beige head. Spiced nose, ginger mostly, with caramel, alcohol, dried fruits and cardamom. Spices and caramel does most of the flavor job, but has some company of dried fruits. Full-bodied and with a nice carbonation level. A quite nice beer, but too spice focused I think. 110311

[Draft at ZBF 2004] A clear dark brown beer with a fine disappearing though laziing head. The aroma is sweet roasted with notes of raisins and plums. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and a dry hoppy end.

(Draught) Fully hazy dark brown; small rim of darkish foam. Faint piney smell, bit of old hops. Very spicey (cinnamon)taste, sweet and fruity. Bit wheat-like, very aromatic. Well-bodied, warming. Nice spicey beer, supposed to be mulled. I wouldn't be surprised if it would improve. I wonder how different it is from de Noël brune (0.5 ABV)?
