Can thanks to my bro. It pours pretty black with lasting brown head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred vibes, rich coffee, espresso, toasted nut, cacao nibs, dark chocolate, nuttiness, praline and a touch of umami. The taste is dry, bitter, dark roasted malt, charred, umami, liquorice, slightly ashy, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, dark roasted coffee, espresso and a nip of booze with a dark roasted finish. Medium body and moderate, velvety mouth feel. A very solid coffee stout. Robust.

Rich roasty coffee, smooth mouthfeel. At a share, not fully getting the nitro widget

On tap at Trst, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma smells like a shot of dark roast espresso, with medium roast. Flavour is much the same, with rich espresso, light roast, and a sludgy mouthfeel. Murky, sludgy mouthfeel, finishing dry with plenty of espresso. Decent.

Can (3/20/24) pour from Steve, nitro version. Opaque black with light sparkle, small, conventional fizzy head quickly fading to a ring and no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted coffee and malt--quite bitter. Taste follows aroma but less bitter with some creaminess. Smooth, creamy texture, medium bodied, soft carbonation and finish as taste. No widget present so no classic nitro head, which was weird, but shows up in taste and mouthfeel. More bitter than I'd prefer but good strength.

Pours oily black with a thin tan head. Aroma of coffee, and toasted nuts. Taste has loads of coffee beans, dark chocolate, some toasted grains. Palate has lingering grainy notes, more coffee, some resin and nondescript oils that linger on the nose. Pretty good.

Draught at Ginger Man Boston, 3/2/18.
Dark ebony, undetermined clarity. Tan head quickly falls to cover.
Coffee-caramel-chocolate nose with ashy roast and mineral-like yeast behind it. No fudgey sweetness nor is it even intensely roasty. Great balance and clean in the nose with no alcohol.
Soft, ashy in the mouth with dark cocoa-like notes creating light burnt, bitter and yet rich chocolate flavors. Vanilla-caramel provides just enough sweetness yet leaves the beer nicely dry overall. Very low carb, yet engaging. Fudge (flavor, not syrupy sweet texture) and chewy caramel linger nicely. Great coffee character, mild and fruity.
