12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/24/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big tangerine, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, apricot, pineapple, lemon/orange rind, pine, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate building dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Classic IPA from Colorado, with moussy, fairly thick, pale greyish white, equally lacing head and lightly hazy, deep warm orange blonde colour. Very attractive and rich aroma of lime zest, dried grapefruit peel, roasted onion, papaja, watermelon, fresh wormwood or other bitter herbs, toasted bread, lychee, strawberry, lemon grass, pine resin, rosé wine, freshly baked cake, garlic powder. Crisp and fruity, yet clean onset, sweet with subtle sourish and umami accents but not the saltiness I expected, papaja, lychee and other tropical fruits, soft carbo, very supple and smooth body, minerally touch, biscuity and a bit bready but in a ’clean’ way, evolving into increasing hop bitterness, drying the back of the mouth with a lovely, ’natural feeling’ bitterness of tonic water and wormwood, as well as being very aromatic, citrusy as expected but not overly so, the roasted onion again (always reminds me of Simcoe but not sure if this has been used here) and pine needle; a narrow trace of juicy malts peep through but it is a herbal, ’green’ hop bitterness which sticks after swallowing. Lives up to its reputation: this is indeed a perfectly balanced IPA, with a fresh and complex bouquet I could sniff for hours. Classy, hiding its ABV perfectly and delivering in both aroma and flavour, a great example of its style.
