We’ve gone through great lengths to refine the process to yield a Rich and Creamy Flavor and mouth feel to show case the decadent flavors yet leave the harsh taste that dark grains can often leave behind. Incredible mouthfeel yet not cloyingly sweet to aid in its drinkability.

Classically intended American style porter from Equilibrium in New York, shared with Goedele. Thick and frothy, yellowish beige, membrane-lacing, stable head on a very dark chocolate brown beer, blackish indeed, but with translucent mahogany edges. Aroma of coffee grounds (very convincingly so) and cold black coffee as such, hard caramel, Ersatz chocolate, nutmeg, dry liquorice, clove, hints of black peppercorns, bayleaf, wood glue, toffee, pecan nut. Sweetish onset but rather restrainedly so, dried dates and old raisins, with a thin umami sauce of dried porcini on top; smooth, softly carbonated, bit glueish body. Peanutty, caramelly and Ersatz chocolate-like maltiness with a light roasty bitterness in the end reminiscent of black coffee, paired with a soft herbal hop bitterness and mild spicy hints of bayleaf and liquorice lingering. Dry for its style, with some interesting spicy effects here and there, including coffee; feels almost like an English style brown porter rather than an American one. Different from what I expected, but certainly enjoyable and interesting enough.

Bottle at home. Rating 21000. Quarantine-milestone. Opaque black color, medium sized light brown to mocha colored head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, light chocolate. Flavor is malts, dark malts, maybe a distant coffee hint, chocolate again but more profoundly than in the aroma, very solid malt-chocolate bitterness and lingering malt bitterness but continuously with a sweetish chocolaty note. Very pleasant I must say. I really like this one. Very solid. A worthy 21k. Cheers!

Crowler Opaque brown pour with a creamy, thick mocha head. The aroma is complex, rich and nutty with roast malt, cocoa and a bit of smoke. Full bodied, full flavored, the flavor has cocoa, roast malt and the smoke again. Very nice, filling. A meal in a glass.
