Unfermented tart cherries add a mild acidity and subtly rounding sweetness to our Deth’s Tar Barrel-Aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout. Flavors and aromas of bourbon and oak meld harmoniously with the fruit, each balancing the other. Enjoy now or store cold.

12 oz can. Pours a very dark brown with short bubbly tan head. Aromas of dried cherries, vanilla, syrupy chocolate, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of chocolate syrup, dark slightly tart cherries, molasses, vanilla, subtle bourbon and oily roasted malts. Very nice use of cherries. Excellent.

2023 version. Solid black draft with a thin ring of foam. Smell so far is pretty mild, and mainly of light sweet cherries. Can't say my socks are knocked off at the first sip Maybe it's close to a cherry cordial than a barrel aged stout. Any spot roast is mellowed out, perhaps by its time in the barrel. I guess it's much more mellow than any of the extreme barrel-aged stouts available this season. …Nah, I think I'll bring it up a few more noticed as the alcohol starts warming up.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a creamy beige/tan head. Slight head. Aroma of cherries and toasted malt. Approaching full bodied. Flavor is cooking cherries with burnt malt. Not dry, but the cherry is so strong it's hard to tell. Burnt malt bitter. Lots and lots of cherry. Chocolate notes in the finish. Exquisite cherry stout!

Deep, dark red-brown-black body with an initially vigorous but quickly dissipating beige head. Fudgy nose with bourbon and tart cherry. Body soft, round, with lots of fudge, soy, bourbon, and oak interplaying with sweet-tart pie cherries. Finishes with a prickly, boozy punch. Enjoyable.
