Sampled @ Extreme Beer Fest, 4 Feb, 17. Aroma of subtle bourbon, dark chocolate, mild roast, and cherry juice. Everything is here.
Solid roasted malt backbone. A thick almost brownie batter texture with a natural cherry juice in the center. The bourbon is almost overrun by the cherry juice but it is here in the finish. I see this brewery wanting to have a “BCS” variant with their own base imperial stout. Honestly they almost nailed it. Just a bit much on the cherry. Still very tasty, I would love to have this again.
