St. Bernardus Prior 8 is a traditional abbey beer, brewed in the classic dubbel style. The original recipe dates back to the times when we still brewed under licence for the monks of Westvleteren.

0.33 l bottle @ Hopaholic. Pours deep brown with huge and long lasting beige head. Nose is typical Belgian fruity-flowery, with some brown sugary notes, pleasant, but no big deal. In taste it has notes of grains, some honey, slight fruits and even hints of metallic touch in the end. Short, sweet finish, average carbonation and light (too light) body. Decent brew, but expected much-much more from it.

nose is BIG ripe fruit, and malt with a slight yeast aroma. Flavour is big and rich. lots of ripe fruit, and a nice maltiness that really coats your palate. really nice ale.

Pours a cloudy brown/dark amber. Aroma of roasted malts, nuts, dark fruit, spices, raisins. One of the better Dubbels I’ve had.

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sottobosco. L'intensità olfattiva è normale e la maniera in cui permane è sufficiente. Il mantello birroso superiore color caffelatte ha una buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana medio-fine. Il colore è ambrato carico tendente marrone. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è di media potenza. La forza gustativa è elevata e permane in maniera sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. In bocca l'aroma è quello di miele, crosta di pane, liquirizia, frutta secca, un accenno di resinoso agrumi, arancia e frutta disidratata.

Дюббель от одной из лучших пивоварин мира Бернардус. Аромат достаточно легкий не навязчивый, в основном ягодный. Эти же ягоды отчетливо ощущаются и во вкусе. Также можно почувствовать нотки сладких фруктов и травяной осадок на языке. Послевкусие хлебно-фруктовое. Хоть мне пиво и весьма понравилось, скажу честно, я ожидал чего то большего.

W aromacie nuty słodowe, chlebowe, karmel, tosty.
W smaku półsłodkie, sporo nut słodowych, karmelowo-tostowo-chlebowych, nieco ciemnych owoców.
Goryczka niska do średniej, wysycenie średnie, ciało w normie, niezła pijalność, nie czuć alkoholu. Dobry balans.

Reddish brown color. Mild malty and alcohol aroma. Taste is a smooth blend of malt sweetness, rich dark fruit, and a spicy hop finish. Easy drinking for the high alcohol content and richness.
