Shall one compare thee to a fair beer,
Not even this perfect porter before thou will do thee justice.
Thou art more complex, brave and cunning.
Thou have changed more than a brew will ever.
Thou may be lil’, but thy mind is greater than words can speak and beer will ever taste.

Bottle. Pours a dark deep brown with some reddish brown seethrough fringe. No head. Aromas of cocoa, roasted coffee, malt, dark sugar. Taste is pretty sweet up front, dark cocoa, coffee, dry bittersweet finish.

Bottle at Delirium. Dark and roasty, black treacle, caramel aroma. Taste is similar, lots of booze, full roast, coffee but also something creamy. Fruity and boozy. Good stuff.

Bottle at home. Three to four year old. Pours a very dark brown to black colour with a brown head. Aroma of nougat, chocolate truffles, dates, brown sugar, bourbon and licorice. Roasted flavour of coffee, dark chocolate and ash, and with sweet undertones of caramel, liqueur and warming alcohol in the end. Has a soft and silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a light bitterness. Is a mix between an imperial porter and a Belgian dark ale. Fantastic, rich and complex.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 23.04.18. Ebony. Small beige head. Aroma of dark malt, dark chocolate, vanilla and perhaps bourbon. Sweet taste, with dark malt, prunes, dates and still a hint of bourbon. Round and creamy mouthfeel. Good!
