0.5l bottle. Nice rubyish dark brown body, light brown head. Aroma of coffee, caramel and some dark fruits. Taste of chocolate, caramel, dark fruits and some roasted malts. Medium bodied, despite that it’s quite strong, the alcohol content is well hidden. Nice beer.

very dark brown colour with reddish notes; aroma and taste of coffee notes, some caramel and ashes; correct dunkler bock, this is probably the best Hungarian beer brewed by a large brewery

Draught at Angyalképző Sörbár, Budapest, on June 20, 2014.Clear dark brown color, tan head. Sweet, spicy, lactic, grainy taste. Grainy aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Dry finish. Sweet, spicy, odd a bit acidic scent. When warmign up goes acidic to sour in taste too and worse again in scent. Something wrong with it. Not sure if it is the beer or unclean taps, was very likely the first of this beer to be poured this day. Even though the girl in the bar did rinse the glass before serving the tap line could perhaps be dirty? If it is reallys upposed to taste and smell like this, well boo, I don’t like it!

Bottle, 0.50l. Cloudy dark brown color with large creamy brownish head, poor lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, dust, roasted malt and dried fruits. Taste starts with sweet caramel malt and grassy sourness, following is heavily roasted with coffee notes, spicy mouthfeel and moderate bitter finish. Medium body, thick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Surprisingly good beer with well hidden alcohol and bit too sweet...

Small pale brown head. Faintly translucent dark red body. Earthy chocolatey licorice aroma with minty notes. Dry-sweet earthy licorice and spice taste with chocolatey background. A kind of alcoholic tang hovers above it all. Full-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish earthy chocolate and licorice aftertaste with pumpernickel notes. Very nice. Full of flavour and character, with some complexity. (0.5l bottle in a café in the royal palace in Budapest.)

04/08 A 0.5 l bottle. It poured clear brown body with medium sized head. Nice coffee and caramel aroma. Flavor was slightly bitter and a bit more sweet, malty generally with sweeter coffee, some caramel and light chocolate. Full bodied with fine, pleasantly rounded sweetish caramel and licorice finish. A very good macro beer.

Beige head over a very dark brown beer. Smells sweet, with coffee and liquorice notes. Taste is bready with some waterish coffee taste, and some liquorice too, and roasted malts. Medium body, but too waterish, flat. Average.
