Pours black into a tulip. Dark chocolate and espresso aromas. Dry with sweet dark chocolate and charred espresso front to back. Lasting bitter earth finish.

12 oz. bottle. Purchased a 4 pack at One Stop Market, Haverhill, MA. Bottled on 09-30-15. Black color with very thin white head. Aroma is bursting with coffee beans and chocolate nuances. Really, Really, rich.

The flavor is much the same but not quite as bold as the aroma with the bean having a light acidic hint. I have to remind myself that this is a porter and not a stout because the body and texture are thin. Almost to the point of watery. Yeah, give it a shot but get it soon because I don’t see this aging well.

12oz from AFH. poured in a snifter. Dark brown, very translucent. no head. There’s a ton of coffee aroma in this. strong, acidic, a little bit of cream and sugar. Good carbonation, decent mouthfeel, sweetness at the finish. coffee up front with molasses and some table sugar. Rye spice and bitter. pretty good for the ABV. I’m impressed.

Keg pour from Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival. Aroma is strong roasted malt with some coffee. Appearance is hazy, very dark brown with nice lacing. Taste is dominant coffee flavor with balanced bitterness and roasted malt moderate sweetness. Palate is surprisingly light bodied with fairly thin texture and carbonation is average to soft. Overall, this is a nice beer--a roasty, coffee treat that could have been a little bit meatier.

Bottle at America on Tap Saturday solid dark brown color with a tan head. Rich chocolate and caramel with a huge hit of roast and coffee. Nice beer, could use a hint more body, but I enjoyed it.
