Good, fine & dense light yellow head over lazily carbonated orange-golden beer. Tarry, phenolic nose, malts, seeds. Soft-tarry, Islay malt with mild sweetness and low alcohol. Very faitnly burnt (not roasted) flavour, cucumber peel. Medium bodie at best. Carbonation is rather low, making it seem a bit lame. Decent, like it as I like most smoked beers;

Thx! for sharing Benzai! Sampled draft @ Van Moll Fest 2016. Looked like this one was really difficult to pour. Near clear orange, small white head. Nose is mellow slightly peated smoke, touch medicinal, bit industrial. Taste is smoke, big leather, base is rather too milky, smoke is almost peated, touch medicinal, bit challenging, orange peel,… Body is overly milky, sweet sugar, yoghurt, medicinal. Not prefect for sure but an interesting & challenging brew which is up ‘t Uiltje’s alley. Enjoyable.

Sampled from tap at NHB 2016. Clear, golden amber with a white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity-grassy and smoky aroma of caramel, some lemon, grass and lots of smoked ham. Sweetish, slightly fruity-grassy, rather smoky taste of caramel, honey, some lemon, grass and lots of smoked ham, followed by a short, moderately grassy-bitter, smoky finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice, really love the sweet caramel and the smoke, but it’s more a Helles than a Pils.

At a tasting, thanks, light cloudy pale orange color, big gushing bubbly head, stable and fluffy, aroma of smoked wood, aromatic and mellow with some light maltiness, flavor of light smoke and wood, with some fruitiness and almonds, light mellow maltiness and sourness. Nice and interesting.
