Sustenance Black Beer, classically referred to as a Schwarz beer, is a dark American Lager brewed in the spring. Soft and sweet on the palate, the roasted, dark caramel grains lend to a satisfying drinking experience, while Lager yeast creates a refreshing thirst-quenching sensation. This combination provides a rich, full-flavored, light-bodied brew.

Bottle. A dense, two-finger dark beige head forms over reddish dark brown body. Nice lacings. Roasted, almost burnt aroma with a spiced and hoppy touch. Some dark berries too. Itβs a bit too carbonated I think, medium to full-bodied and quite smooth. Lightly acidic, with roasted malts, dried fruits and a pleasant bitterness. Lasting finish with raisin notes and a good bitterness that lasts, of both the hoppy and roasted kind. Certainly a nice one, maybe not the most true to style schwarzbier, but good. 120324

355ml bottle. Opaque black with medium to huge frothy beige head, collapsing to a thin film. Bitter chocolate aroma, bitter hop accompanied, decent roasty notes. Taste has also dark bitter chocolate, grain, a matallic note, in the course nourished by sweeter chocolate notes.

Bottle 33cl. Black beer with tan head with good lacing. Aroma is alcoholic, toasted malts, buttery, bready, black coffee. Flavour is moderate malty, not very hopped, but alcoholic, vinous, wooden. On palate results a beer with medium body, oily feel and average carbonation with a long aftertaste to toasted malts.
