Our IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name "Humboldt IPA Nectar" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Feety but nice floral grapefruit and rosehip aroma. Opaque ochre pour with a medium yellow head. Full mouthfeel and bitter. Not dissimilar to ear wax. Needlessly bitter, overhopped, no balance. Nice idea, poorly done.

12oz bottle pours clear copper with thin off white head. The aroma is roasty, malty, sweet and has mild grapefruit hops. The taste begins with vague hop bitterness that builds into grapefruit citrus hop bitterness. By midway a river of medium roasted maltiness and sweet malts join the grapefruit juice bitterness created a pleasing combination. Very nice IPA with plenty of bold flavors of hops and malts.

Deep amber coloured body with a very hazy orange tint - very nice! Decent sized tan head that tops the beer as well. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavour up front with a good malt backbone, finishing with a pleasant sweetness and a rather strong apricot flavour. Aftertaste has more toffee and caramel tucked in with the hops than anything else. Overall, a good IPA - not enough hops for me, but the other flavours show very well, along with the good malt backbone. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 25 November 2007.

12oz bottle pours out a nice amber topped with a cream off white head. A very nice floral hop aroma. Tast of sweet hops and ligth malt. Pretty good.

Fiery orange-red body, thick off-white head, leaves nice lacing. Aroma of grapefruity and piney hops residues and toast. Flavor is a swirl of floral and citrusy hops, with a bitter, earthy finish. Creamy, soft.

12 oz Bottle. Wow, just wow. I was pretty iffy about trying this beer, but I was blown away. Great orange and hoppy flavors.

Thanks to droopy49 for sending this one from my wants list! Starts with a large head on the pour over a clear, medium orange brew. Sticky long lasting head. Bready, flowery aroma that has a spicy ginger aspect to it. Light to medium bodied. Somewhat lightly hopped for a California IPA, but it’s so smooth and well balanced that it pulls it off easily. Dangerously drinkable and smooth.

An orange beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy, from a good hop sort (or combination), but also with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of grass and flowers, leading to a good bitter hoppy end, but the body is a little thin.

This one came to me in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright caramel color with a very creamy medium sized yellowish head. The aroma is strong with grapefruity hops. There is a strong grapefruit flavor with light sweet malts underneath. The balance is not too bad but the hops really dominate. Still not as good as the Double Barrell.
