Underneath it seems like a really good beer. But this bottle seems very oxidized. The aroma is fantastic, the underlying malt and yeast contribution is also great. But something has happened on the surface to stale it. online beerwulf

Pours a huge frothy head. Malty apricotaroma. Sweet flavor with apricot, some toasty malt and coffee. Typical sweet dubbel, nice and inoffensive, but lacking character.

Widely distributed Dubbel, bottle from Colruyt. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, unstable, frothy, tan head. Aroma of candi sugar, butterscotch, raisin, plum, brioche, milk chocolate, almond. Taste is medium malty sweet, bit caramelly, fruity touch of plum & raisin, nutty too; light herbal bitterness with some spice, toast & faint metallic 'zing'. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering dark fruit, bread, caramel, subtle warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Not the most impressive of Dubbels, but acceptable. This has become somewhat of a 'house beer' at home next to its Tripel brother. As it's still way better than any Leffe iteration I'm okay with that.

Bottle. Poudark amber. Aroma is sweet, caramel, candy, sugar, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, caramel, candy. Finish is sweet and sugary. Overall: okish caramel sugar water.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met Roelzie. Het is een amberkleurig bier met een dun schuim. Het heeft een moutige wat gistachtige geur. De smaak is moutig en zoet.

F: huge, tanned, long lasting. C: dark, opaque. A: malty, caramel, dark fruits, hint of brown sugar, yeasty. T: malty, fruity, dark cherries, brown sugar, yeasty, molasses, medium to full body, medium carbonation, better than expected, 33cl bottle from Prik & Tik ABC Drinks in Leuven.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Clear dark red/brown with an off-white head. Malty caramel aroma. Yeasty sweet taste. Typical enjoyable Belgian dubbel.

Many thanks for this beer to Eric De Geyter. Piwo ma ladna trwala kremowa pianke, kolor orzechowy, ciemno herbaciany. W smaku lekko karmelowo, toffi, trufle, slodowe delikatne. Dobre jak na swoj styl, przyjemne zakonczenie mlecznej czekolady
