Bottle. Hazy orange-amber with a medium white head. Aroma of malt, caramel notes, floral and slightly citric notes and some minerals. Flavor has a bit of malt sweetness, slightly caramelly and biscuity , minerally notes and pleasant hoppy bitterness, kinda floral and citric. Medium-bodied. Decent.

GABF, 2012, Friday Evening. Good malt flavor with moderately roasted grain, but also some dry hops that I have come to expect for the few Burton ales I have tried. Full mouth feel with a good palate, a well made beer like most everything from Southampton.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Half Time, 10/22/12

Aroma: The nose of this one has citrus hops, lemon, some toast/bread, and a little toffee
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a frothy white headn and mid-heavy lace
Flavor: Tastes light-medium sweet, with orange and lemon along with toast/bread, it finishes lightly bitter
Palate: The body is light (leaning medium), with an average-to-lively carbonation, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty tasty beer. I feel like they hit nicely on what they were trying to make here, which is a true to style British IPA. Even though it isn't super hoppy, the hops shine through enough to provide a nice balance to the citrus and bread flavors that are the more dominant aspect of the beer. It is quite drinkable as well.

Slightly copper coloured body with a golden glow and a thickish, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of earthy, nutty hops with a bit of caramel and toffee noticeable with a tiny bit of malt. Medium to Full-bodied; Chewy toffee and malty flavour with a good earthy hop bitterness and very low alpha acid hops showing some earthy and nutty tastes. Aftertaste is caramelised sugars, some nuts and a bit of malt - definitely more of an EPA than anything even close to an American IPA. Overall, a decent beer, but not great, and especially not for the style - there aren’t many hops here at all, but in an EPA category, this would be run of the mill to perhaps a tad better. I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased from Wegman’s in Malvern, Pennsylvania on 22-September-2012 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 05-October-2012.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of oranges, sweet caramel, some syrup tones and bready English hops. Flavour of English hops, bready notes, caramel malts, finishing on slightly sweet, very bready English-style hops. Definitely English-styled, but lacking dynamics. A little dull and lifeless, but solid enough.

Bottle. Poured orange gold with cloudy lasting head. Aroma is less impressing Sort of piney, sort of hoppy. Flavour is restrained hop. Even tho’ British IPAs are less hoppy than American, this is less hoppy than most British IPAs. Light hop finish
