This autumn ale is a showcase of the mighty Summit™ hop. Our friend Jason grows amazing Summits that combine pine, spice and captivating citrus aromas. A good dose of toasted malts provides warm, rich flavors to contrast the hops on the front palate. Cold fermentation gives a surprisingly crisp finish. We hope you enjoy this unique fall brew.

Slightly hazy amber coloured body with a thick, dense off-white head. Aroma of malt, vinegar, cardboard and very little else. Light-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strong hops up front that fade almost immediately to a cardboardie and almost soapy flavour with some malt following behind and a dash of earth. Aftertaste all of a sudden reasserts the hops which are actually pretty strong and almost metallic. Overall, an interesting beer - not necessarily a fall beer in my opinion, but shows some good hops and deep flavours for the season, which isn’t bad. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$2.55 sampled at home in Washington on 07-February-2012.

Not too bad, one of the better organic beers I’ve had. Warming caramel and biscuity flavors, a little citrus hop is barely detectable but provides a contrast. Appetizing, and a good partner to food. Copper-brown color, smallish head.

Bottle in NYC with Chris. Pours clear garnet with a small, white head. Crystal malt aroma, bit of caramel and light earthy hops. Nice balance in the flavor, subtle hop bitterness, grass, toast and mild brown sugar. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild sweet finish, toasty malts, light grass. Very easy drinking and very pleasant.

Bottle from Whole Foods in Petaluma. Pours amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma is something like a mandarin. Near full body. Flavor is mandarin with some roast malt. Overall this is bitter and hoppy enough to stand up to some IPAs. Finishes like a clementine.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods, Fairfax, VA. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of peppery, citrus hops and caramel. The taste is earthy and nutty notes, citrus hops with a bit of a resiny note. Medium bodied. 3300th rating!
