(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 28 Feb 2015) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, black coffee, vanilla, bourbon and oak wood. Malty, roasted taste with strong black coffee, cacao, liquorice, vanilla, oak wood, bourbon and a warming finish with a generous coffee bitterness and a touch of alcohol. Full body, fairly sweet. Tasty and warming imperial stout with a balanced bourbon character. Excellent beer!

Bottle, at Haand Festival -14. A really dark brown beer, topped by a small, beige head. Almost clear, and quite oily pour. The aroma has booze, chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Not so much aroma of the Wild Turkey, just the alcohol. That goes for the flavor too, it’s roasted tending towards burnt, with chocolate and dark coffee. Full body, lightly warming and soft on the palate. Lasting finish with lots of dark malts and a solid dash of booze. Pretty lovely this one. 140523

Bottle with thanks to MrH! Pours opaque black with a medium creamy brown head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is rich whiskey, wood, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts. Flavor follows, medium sweet, light bitter, wonderful blend of whiskey and stout base. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty hot, which is really the only minus to this outstanding beer.
