This is the new recipe replacing the original He’Brew Genesis ale. Balanced between a West Coast style pale and amber ale with just enough malt sweetness to highlight a flurry of hop aroma and flavor. Witness the evolution of our original creation.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, floral, grass, pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of citrus hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice amber ale. All around good complexity and balance of citrus hops and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

12 oz. bottle. Amber color with thin head. Aroma is caramel malt, mild floral and pine hops. The dry hopping is all about aromatics and it really didn’t help the flavor here in any way shape or form.

Really plain flavors, grain, caramel malt, medium bodied with a somewhat slick mouthfeel. No bitterness to speak of and overall just boring. No bottle date found on bottle but where I bought this; bottles really don’t sit around long on the shelf. But it tastes way older than I guessing it is. The neck label says it this brew won a silver medal. I only taste a swing and a miss here.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light slightly foamy and clingy lacing sticking nicely to the glass.
The smell had some light sweet citrus hops and a little bit of caramel malt thrown in there.
The taste was mainly sweet but had a light bitterness to it.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly good sessionability about it. The carbonation struck my tongue harsh enough to definitely be an APA.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good APA worthy of having again.

Bottle sample at a He’Brew tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma of floral and citric hops, slightly stale, with caramel, malt, biscuits and a bit of fruitiness. Sweetish malty flavor, a bit biscuity and caramelly, with some fruitiness and slightly stale hops bitterness, a bit citric. Medium-bodied. Decent.

I bought this because it said "dry hopped session ale" - amber pour - frothy, lasting lace - nose of fruit cocktail sweetness (syrup, cherries), lightly citric and wood hops - flavor of mild harsh maltiness, fruit cocktail/fruit punch, peppery hops, citrus - finish is peppery and mildly abrasive - the carbonation is soft and creates a nice texture, but other than that, this is pretty rough and tough to "session."

Bottle pours murky brown with a thin tan head and massive amounts of carbonation causing a gusher. Smells and tastes old and infected. Citrus butter bomb. Not pleasant.

Bottle. Nice red amber, low head. Resinny hop nose, slightly skunked unfortunately. Medium light body, light roast and honey, grassy citric and piney hops. Minerally finish, light grass aftertaste.
