tap - Pours very dark brown with a light tan head. The aroma is mild dark roast malt. It tastes roasty and malty with elements of coffee and chocolate. It’s just too mild and too watery though. I’m really not impressed.

On Draft @ the Great Lost Bear. Black pour with plenty of reds under a huge fluffy white head. Sour metallic aroma. Flavor is watery, roasted malt, slight burnt notes, and some roasty bitterness are all this beer has to offer. Light in body with too much small, prickly carbonation. The finish leaves a lingering bitterness on the tongue. The watery body and bitter finish didn’t make me want anymore of this. Don’t bother with this, find something else.

Location: Draft at RnH, 2/19/11

Aroma: The malts are fairly rich in the nose, roast, chocolate, and toast
Appearance: This beer pours a dark brown color with a light brown head
Flavor: The taste is less rich, similar flavors, with rather light hops
Palate: The feel is fairly smooth, medium duration, fairly drinkable
Overall Impression: Overall, this is an OK example of the British style of porter. I didn't find any major flaws in this one, I just didn't find anything too wonderful about it either. Drinkable, hardly memorable, ultimately fairly dull.

0.33L bottle, big stable brown head, black colour with some brown taints, aroma of cocoa and dark chocolate with some coffee apearring as the beer warms up, flavour of coffee and barnyard, light sourish aftertaste highlighting dried figs. solid but not spectacular.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Black-colored with a big dense light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee hints and some fruitiness. Sweetish roasty flavor with a nice, somewhat coffee-ish, bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied. Nothing mind-blowing, but a decent quaffable Porter.

Dark brown color, spongy light amber head, slight caramel aroma, bitter coffee taste, full body abrupt finish. A nice porter.

From my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark black color with a huge foamy brown head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was bittersweet cocoa and toasty malts. The flavor was bitter and a bit roasty with moderate notes of cocoa, vanilla and wood. The beer turned a bit dry towards the long bitter and roasty finish. Medium body but very smooth. Solid.

Portery. Black with very low carbonation. All malt, no hops here. Moderately roasted grain. Thinner palate than I would like, but a decent session beer.

Outrageous! i enjoyed this porter very much. Poured a dark black with a strong head. Aroma of roasted malts. Flavor of malts as well, along with choclate and notes of cinnamon - yes, cinnamon! Thick and rich, it felt great to drink. A beer fo savoring. Finished smooth. Exactly what I had wanted.
