The aroma is dark and sweet, with clear tones of chocolate and dried fruit. The aftertaste is dry and long-lasting, and leaves you yearning for more. Struis is only available as a bottled beer.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 2016-12) im 2020-03 getrunken. Nach den vielen Jahre der Flaschenreifung ist der damals mir viel zu starke Hopfeneinfluss verschwinden. Malz und Getreide zeigen dagegen deutlich. So ist dieses hier ein recht schönes BW.

33cl bottle (BBF: 12/2019) from Beerwulf webshop. F: huge, pale tanned, average retention. C: dark brown with coppery hue against the light, bit hazy. A: malty, caramel, mellow fruity, dried fruits, chocolate touch, bit spicy. T: full malty base, caramel, dried fruits, raisins, bit nutty, bready touch, bit vinous, toast, dry on the palate, not exactly for the style yet not bad, enjoyable beer.

More than 2 yrs. old. Beer gushes out of the bottle. Aroma has rosebuds and milk chocolate. Some apple sourness in the flavor, slightly acidic. Chocolate, cherry, cranberry and licorice. Some alcohol. Maybe a bit thin. All ’n all a fine beer. Again a minimum 2 years old beer, tasted feb 13, best until nov 11. Murky brown color. Pear drups and a hint of sherry in the aroma. Malt, caramel, roast and pear drups in the slightly alcoholic flavor.

Fles gedeelt met Roelzie1986. Het is een donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. Het heeft een moutige wat fruitige geur. De smaak is moutig gebrand en chocolade achtig met in de nasmaak gedroogd fruit.
