Opaque colour, mid-sized brownish head. Ash, chocolate, roasted malts and licorice in the nose. Full-bodied with smooth palate. Roasted, a bit ashy, dark chocolate, some hops. Classic style imperial stout. Well-brewed.

2024 draught at the brewery, 5/1/25.
Clear, dark. Sizeable, light tan head, moderate-to-low retention.
Roasty with some PNW hops. Smells like 2005! But it's clean, polished, no alcohol, resin, sugar, etc...
Very nice texture: soft and chewy, not quite syrupy. Great .alt depth and attenuation with a lot of hop and a good deal of roast. Nice to see they've stayed true to the old school recipe, even if it is outdated. I'm sure it's great in a barrel. Respect.

Can (11/2019) pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits. Appearance is opaque black with trace sparkle at the edges of the glass, 2-finger width light brown foamy head with good retention and trace lacing. Aroma is earthy, European hops and roasted malt, a bit of cherry and even a whiff of banana(!), chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, cherry, bit of astringent alcohol, chocolate. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin texture, soft carbonation, slight harsh alcohol in the mouth but mild pleasant warmth in the esophagus, and finish as taste. Overall, some very nice elements though harshness of alcohol detracts from the experience--perhaps some additional age would have done this good.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a thin mocca head. Aromas of very sweet fruits, vanilla, fudge, sweet chocolate and coffee. Taste is not as Extreme sweet fruits but still has alot of it, more roasted malt and coffee. Bit thin body sadly.

Dwindling yellowish beige head over jet-black beer. Coffee, roasted malts, underlying molasses. Again lukewarm coffee, mocha, dark grains. Medium bodied at least, very slick to oily. Bit middle-of-the-road for an Imperial stout, no?

Can @ home. Opaque pitch black color, full sized thick and quite creamy dark brown head. Aroma is malts, liquorice, firm roast. Taste malts, roasted malts, dark malts, light liquorice, malt bitter, medium to firm bitter finish. Medium body, carbonation is a bit sharp sort of speak, but not annoying. Decent stout.
