American Pale Ale
Boulevard Pale Ale is a smooth, fruity, well-balanced beer with year-round appeal. A variety of caramel malts imparts a rich flavor and amber color, while liberal use of Cascade hops adds zest and aroma. Pale Ale is the first beer we brewed, and continues to be a perennial favorite.

Evergreen hoppy aroma, lasting thin head, light amber color. Taste is hoppy bitterness with a little malt sweetness underneath

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is massively oxidized, with cardboard, toasted biscuity malt and subdued earthy hops. Flavour is so cardboardy, with toasted biscuity malt, cardboard and subdued hops. Thanks Eugene for the oxidized tick.

Darker yellow from a bot in the elrey del mundo glass. Nice head. Slight hop perfume aroma. Fairly beefy hop taste impact, a little duller perhaps. Seems like more than 6%. Gets a little astringent towards the end. Almost falls into the IPA style on the finish. L102015

Boulevard’s first, apparently available in Belgium now that they have been taken over by Moortgat. Draught at Antwaerps Bierhuyske. Thick, lacing, creamy, egg-white head over a pure, orangey, lightly hazy amber beer. Aroma sadly ruined by fairly strong DMS (cooked white cabbage) along with toasted bread, caramel, potato, dried apricot, grass, celery and white pepper. Clean, mildly fruity flavor, dried apricot touch, medium carbo, slick and rather simple caramelly and toasted malt body, mild grassy and lightly floral hop character along with some yeast bitterness but maltiness keeps prevailing. I expected an APA to be honest, but this is clearly an EPA, to the extent this label is still used nowadays; reminded me more of a spéciale belge than an American pale ale and the DMS kind of ruined this for me.
