A one-off brew with a variety of malts to get to a higher density after boiling. Candied sugar was also added during the brewing process. Except for the low wheat percentage, the process of this beer followed the traditional lambic tradition.

To celebrate my 7100th Rating. Thanks to Anker for hooking me up with this. 75cl Bottle. Pours murky unclear orange with a creamy and stable white head and lacings. Nose is cellar, horseblanket and oak. Flavor is dominated by oak and vanilla with a touch of brown sugar and some acidic notes. Crisp and dry and quite interesting. However this will not be a 3 Fonteinen favourite.

Bottle thanks to ditmier. Pours out a hazy brown with some red highlights topped with a small head. Aroma was of funk, lemon zest, oak, earth tones, and some apple. Taste was much as the aroma with some nice funk, barnyard, and fruit going on.

[3/8/11] Bottle at a friend’s house in Amsterdam. Hazy amber with a medium, quickly-dissipating, white head. Aroma of brett, some wood, citrus and light caramel notes. Sour flavor with a bit of sweeter hints, some lemon and a sharp bone-dry finish with some alcohol and some bitterness. Medium-bodied. Good but not great as other beers from 3 Fonteinen. I don’t know if it originally was intended to be one, but this is definitely not a Faro now.

0.75l bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Pours a murky as hell deep orange body with lots of big black sediments and a quite decent white fading head. Nose is vinegar, slightly fruity and some faint raisin hints along with the wild yeast and orange peel. Good carbonation, and medium bodied. Tastes quite nice. There is a distinct sweetness from the malts, almost candy sugar sweetness, green apple and wool along with some hints of pear. The wild yeast really sticks out. Lightly tart. Finishes off in a dry, woody and slightly sour longlasting finish. Nicely balanced and quite good.

Bottle with a best before of (if I can read the number correctly) 04/2012. Pours with a hazed golden body and a fading white head. Aroma is funky, cotton candy, brown sugar, cork and musty. Flavor is sweet and vinous, with funky notes and some acid. Lively bubbles and good acidity. Tasty.

Medium offwhite head. Hazy amber body. Waxy floral horseblanket aroma with grapefruit, cheese and metal notes. Harmonic and balanced. Sour-sweetish grapefruit and horseblanket taste with waxy floral notes. Mid-bodied. Sharp, biting mouthfeel. Dry-sour floral herbal grapefruit aftertaste with metallic wooden yoghurt notes. A little honey, too. Extremely complex. There are a million things going on here. Fairly harsh acidic edge. A sipper. (0.75l bottle, wine monopoly Vika, Oslo.)

Bottled at Pressklubben, Stockholm. Hazy amber, minimal head. Juicy concentrated aroma of horseblanket, vinegar and raisins. Acidic with a slight sweetish overlay. Soft and rounded with lots of juicy citrus. Above medium bodied with a slight, mild alcohol warmth. The richness and complexity is put even more on open display by the slighy sweetness and warmth. The downside is that is a bigger, slightly less drinkable beer, indeed more suitable for winter temperatures.
