Bottle shared at the Moeder Lambic cellar session 2015 along with the full 2011 lineup. Pours black with a short lived brown head. Aroma is insane marshmallow upfront, even more than BVDL, brandy coming out, oak, marzipan, dark chocolate and fudge. Flavour is heavy sweet, but not dark lord cloying. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Marshmallow just hanging around in the finish for ages. Just incredible, and so happy to have been able to try this.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Opaque black beer, short lived tan head. Light semi dry palate. Amazingly not too boozy! Smells like dark chocolate ice cream. Taste follows the nose. Lovely vanilla dark chocolate malt with a brandy twist. It’s just amazingly light and drinkable. Softish finish with just a little warmth coming through. A real treat for a sweet tooth.

Bottle at Chriso’s Easter tasting 2012. Number 346 thanks to legend that is madmitch76. It pours jet black, with a quickly dissipating tan head. The nose is chocolate ice-cream, lots of vanilla, coffee liqueur, roasted malt and chocolate gateaux. The taste is caramel, toffee, ice-cream, vanilla, chocolate, alcohol warmth, coffee liqueur, chocolate cake, touch of soy sauce, toasted sesame seed, cherry, brandy, wood and roasted malt, with a sweet, warming finish. Full body, fine, prickly carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. There’s no denying this is very sweet, but it’s very enjoyable in small measures. Definitely a desert beer.
