Non filtered, non pasteurised beer with secondary fermentation in the bottle. Wheat triple with the slightly sour yet mainly sweet touch of wheat malt. Full-mouthed, cloudy. With a fine, dense head like a blob of cream. The Hofelf equals pure delight.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Very thin ring white head. Hazy light golden pour. Not a great tripel

’Tarwetripel’ (unusually heavy wheat beer Belgian style), with coppery colour and sweetish main character with sourish wheat, refreshing, light bitterness adding to the body; warm but not disturbing alcohol in the finish, but unfortunately a bit phenolic as well.

14/III/14 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a (2014-281)

Bit cloudy beige beer, big fizzy white head, unstable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty chemical, somewhat sweet, honey, yeast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet, chemical, bit dirty, unpleasant. Aftertaste: bit sour, band-aid, bit chemical, very dirty, bit sourish, thinking about an infection here.

Boring Belgian blond beer. Bit flat and watery, I don’t understand the added value of this one.

33cl bottle from Beerhive. Appearance - blonde with a fairly thin head and a slight haze. Nose - interesting combination of grapefruit from hops and pineapple from the yeast. Also some spice perhaps ginger. Taste - more grapefruit and pineapple with ginger. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a dry refreshing finish. Overall - a good Belgian Blonde in my opinion.

Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Hazy piss colour with no head and a fair amount of sediment. Weird nose, sweet and floral, vague marzipan. Flavour was slightly bitter. Yeasty and fizzy. Didn’t float my boat.

Bottle at home. Pours murky yellow with no head. Lemon, yeast, soap aromas. Tastes sweet and sour and odd. Sticky texture, average carbonation. Finishes... unusually. Something not quiet right with this.

licht geel, helder met minimaal witte kraag aroma: citrus, gras, tarwe, graan, hooi smaken: medium zoet, licht bitter, fruitig, citrus, normaal moutig, gekruid, metalig, graan, licht citrus, hooi. licht van body, dun, normale co2, afdronk: zoetig na een tijdje komen de chemische/metaalachtige smaken naar boven, dit beïnvloed mijn rating behoorlijk

Bottle @ home. Medium sized white head on top of a clear yellow colored beer. Smell wheat, lightly citrus, grass, hay. Taste wheat, lightly citrus, hay, grassy, lightly herbs and spices and decently bitter. Pretty nice, but seeing other people’s score I guess I’m either lucky or weird...
