0,375l bottle at home. orange clear color, small white head. smells funky, citric, light green appkes, light sweetness, marzipan, nutty, lightly sour, hints of wood. lovely smell. medium body, medium carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes citric, funky, nutty, some marzipan, bit tobaccoish, some vinegar, also some sweetness, wood, gets a bit sweet but also rather dry and vinegarish towards the finish. finishes dry and sour with funky, green apple and vinegar notes. overall good one, but finish is not very convincing. bit weird overall.

750ml bottle. Etre Gourmet. Dark gold, with a soft haze. Film and ring of lasting, white head. Nose has sweet, toasty, lightly nutty malts. Soft, fruity funk. Some damp, old wood. Bit of a soft fruit stone thing. Bit of citric pith. Taste is sweet, and tart, at the same time. Gets tangy, tart and dries out nicely. Light to medium body. A fair spritz to it. Fruity, dry and tart finish.

Bouteille: Golden to deep golden, almost clear, visible carbonation, big - almost creamy - white head; mildly sourish nose of lemons, malt and traces of horseblanket; moderate sourish-bitter flavour, medium bodied; lingering dryish sour and also bitter finish. Good and easy-drinking Gueuze...

Intense orange colour, almost perfectly transarent. Small white head recedes quite quickly but still leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma shows soft fruity sourness (green apple, lime) and a bit of earthy funkiness. As the smell suggested, sourness is very much in check for the style and nicely balanced by a sweet wheat malts foundation. Fruity tartness (again green apple, lime) is more evident than lactic sourness (slight earthy funk). Light bodied with medium to high carbonation, pleasantly spritzy and dry enough in the finish. Refreshing enough. Overall this is an easy and enjoyable but not very complex gueuze.

37cl bottle. Clear amber with a tall off-white head. Barnyard funk, blue cheese, balsamic vinegar, apple cider, sulphur and sodium bicarbonate. A bit too sweet (that is, not dry enough) for a gueuze, but still drinkable.

(Bottle, Poechenellekelder, Brussels, 17 Oct 2015) Clear golden colour with frothy, white head. Sourish, earthy nose with yeast, stable, barnyard, unripe pears, grapes and some cellar. Fruity, tart taste with notes of grapefruit, sour grapes, stable and slightly earthy flavours. Tart and dry finish. Medium body. Tasty, with a fresh, earthy sourness. Nice one.
