Coconut stout by one of Spain’s leading craft brewers in collaboration with Perro Libre, draught at Bumb3r, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Lacing but thin and opening, yellowish beige head over black beer with hazy burgundy edges. Desserty aroma combining a lot of coconut from the palo santo with something cardamom-, raw bitter cinnamon- and even incense-like, next to impressions of Belgian chocolates, toffee, cloves, butterscotch and toasted pine nuts. Sweet onset, soft elderberry-ish sourish accent, fizzy carb, oily mouthfeel, full and rounded; deeply nutty, black chocolatey malt body, toasty bitterness in the end with lots of spicy, gingerbread-like effects, again raw cinnamon- and clove-like with only a limitedly returning coconut impression on top of it all; pleasantly spicy finish also due to warming alcohol effect. Quite intense, warming, spicy and complex – reminds me a bit of Perennial’s Abraxas, now that I come to think of it, even if the additions here are different. Palo santo wood could be the next new thing in the flavoured stouts department, it seems...

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, beautiful sweet chocolate malt with loads of licorice, dark fruits, molasses, plums, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with loads of resinous floral hops, licorice, alcohol warmth, light cinnamon, dark fruits, plums, very nice and complex. On tap at Clandestin.

Pours black to brown, no real head. Smell is coconut like fruityness ( perhaps the wood ? ) very aromatic . Taste is full, sweet, coconut like, very aromatic, tad bitter. Very roasty. Nice.

Bottle. Color black, thin light brown head. Taste: Roasted malt, some sweetness, hopbitterness notes of cacao, liquorice and cinnamon. Strongly overwhelmed by notes of coconut and rather unusual notes that I don't recognize. Most probably from the palo santo wood and / or the raisins. Over medium body, average carbonation. Long lasting finish. Bounty feeling. Pretty complex but a bit unbalanced in my opinion. A bit like drinking incense. Not really my kind of imperial stout.
