Aside from the light bitter hop flavors, Rothaus Hefeweizen has an additionally important flavor component that’s typical for this variety: brewer’s yeast. For this beer variety, a top-fermented yeast is used as opposed to the one that’s bottom-fermented. In contrast to our other beers, our Hefeweizen is unfiltered when bottled.

Fles in Duitsland gekocht, thuis geprobeerd. Het is een troebel goudgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van tarwe en banaan. De smaak is zoet, banaan achtig en gist.

Bottle. Color: Hazy orange amber, white head. Aroma: Yeast,banana, malty. Taste: Yeasty, banana esters, wheat malt and subtle spicy clove. Smooth and pretty dense mouthfeel. Grassy hop hints in the background. Just over medium body, just below average carbonation. Very nice Hefe-Weizen.

# 3791; 8/2023. Yeasty, malty, bready, fruity and spicy aroma. Cloudy orange-gold body; persistent white head. Malty, yeasty, banana, clovy, spicy, fruity. Very good and typical hefeweizen. 0,5 l, bottle, supermarket, Tübingen (Swabia, Germany).

Schön cremiger Schaum. Als erstes fällt beim Trinken etwas Apfel und ein Hauch Sekt auf. Nach 2 - 3 Schlucken sind auch kernige Getreidenoten und vergorene Früchte zu erkennen. Die Hefe spielt weder optisch, noch geschmacklich eine große Rolle. Das Bier hat ganz ordentliche 5,4 % Alk., die merkt man. Allerdings nimmt die reichlich vorhandene Kohlensäure (leider) etwas von der Schwere raus. Recht brauchbar.

Incredibly I’ve never had this before, 21st May 23. Pours a good looking dark murky orange, typical frothy head. Aroma is banana and cloves, yeast. Taste is firm, banana, citrus and cloves, spice and wheat, yeast. Excellent Hefeweizen
