Aside from the light bitter hop flavors, Rothaus Hefeweizen has an additionally important flavor component that’s typical for this variety: brewer’s yeast. For this beer variety, a top-fermented yeast is used as opposed to the one that’s bottom-fermented. In contrast to our other beers, our Hefeweizen is unfiltered when bottled.

On tap at German Gymnasium, King's Cross. A stunning hefeweizen, certainly in appearance with ita deep orange. Went down a treat.

50cl bottle from HoTM. It pours hazy orange with a dissipating white head. The aroma is soft and fruity, tangy orange marmalade upfront, foamy banana candy, banana split, creamy, clove rock and doughy bread. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, ripe sweet banana underpins the beer, banana split, warming spice, clove, candied orange, tangerine, marmalade, grass, hay and some floury bread with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate+ fluffy carbonation. All comes together well. Rounded and moreish..

Bottled 500ml (Alko web) Hazy orange-yellow colour, medium-sized cloudy off-white head. Banana and clove in the nose. Medium-bodied. Malty semi-sweet Hefeweizen. This is towards banana with lots of yeasty esters, some bubblegum. Less citrus and spiceyness. Solid.

Gyllengul och kraftigt grumlad vätska. Brödig, lite degig och lätt gräsig i doften. Utanpå allt ett omslagspapper av kryddnejlika. Maltig kropp med medelbeska. Litet syrligt avslut.

Bottle; nose is wheat, pronounced cereal, slight bubblegum and cloves. Taste is wheat, banana, light cloves, pear, pear drops, lots of yeast pronounced bubble gum in the thin finish. A touch disappointing. Absolutely beautiful label on the bottle though.

Tight foamy white head stayed on cloudy dark golden body. Yeast, wheat & cereal aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a lively back. Sweet fruits, cereal, floral, banana & chalk tastes. Refreshing
