Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. Clear gold with smooth near white head, nice lacing. Its a malty affair with brown bread and biscuit notes, little in the way of hops even for the style. Nice smooth mouthfeel. A bit dull but fine.

Can't believe I haven't ticked this one! First consumed at GBBF pre ratebeer days. Cask at Gordon Highlander, Inverurie. It pours. Lead bee - brown with a sturdy, dense off-white head. The aroma is woody, old leather pub sofa , toasted nuts, toffee, brown bread and a touch of dried fruits. The taste is firmly dry, touch of bitterness, nutty, woody, earth, touch of toffee/caramel, leafy hops and a nip of spice with a dry finish. Average body and well appointed fluffy carbonation. Nice condition. A pretty ok bitter. Wouldn't stand out in a crowd, but in good condition drinks well.

Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton (at 4.2%). Pours a dark copper with medium sized white head and good lacing. The aroma has malts and biscuits. Malts again in the mouth together with autumn fruits. There’s a brief burst of traditional hops before it becomes rather sweet, but with hints of spices. Finish is sweet and fruity. Pleasant enough, but without any really notable features.

28th Oct 2019; Shrewsbury monthly beer exchange at Chez Sophie. 500ml bottle from Mike, BB 9th Nov 2019. Slight haze to the golden body, wispy white head. Malty lead to the aroma and taste, mini 'cobweb' feel to the condition; it was very close to it's BBD, scored objectively.

Gravity cask at the Wren's Nest, Newport IOW. Light brown, clear with a bit of off-white head. Toffee, glace cherry on the aroma. Sweet taste, ridiculously sweet. Massive amount of residual sugar in this beer, really spoils it. All in all it isn't bad, but it's too damn sweet (this from a guy who loves sweet beers).
