An easy drinking and refreshing IPA. Fresh dry hop, herbal character is provided by the mix of Challenger and First Gold hops. The use of crystal malt in the grist gives a satisfying toffee/caramel note and the addition of a little black malt adds just enough astringency to give a clean, dry finish.
Malts: Pale, crystal and black malt.
Hops: Challenger, Pilgrim and First Gold.

Pours a clear amber colour with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is light fruit and malt and a similar taste. A bit watery, not a lot of depth of flavour and not much bitterness.

Cask at some pub. Cask. Clear pale copper colour with a thin white head. Aroma has biscuits, caramel malts, oranges, light pines and pale malts. Taste is light bitter. Light to medium bodied. Slightly drying finish. Rather average, better than the canned version.

Cask at The Curator, Terminal 3 Heathrow. I feel peoppe have been a bit mesn to this one. Old English ipas are never gonna have any relation to the new styles we see as ipas. especislly from a big old macro like Greene king. it is also 3.8% or whatever. I would call it a bitter but whatever about the semantics. sweet malty aroma. mahogany brown. watery finish and taste.

Cask @ Kings Stores, London. Clear amber with a small white head. Faint aroma of citrus fruits. Taste is very mild. Small hints of citrus fruits and biscuits. No bitterness to speak of. Low carbonation. Pretty inoffensive. Maybe, just maybe it grows on you after half a dozen of pints but I didn't feel it was worth finding out.

Cask. Rather bland and boring but without any obvious faults. Sweet and fruity.
