Originally "Plum Pudding", "Christmas" had been added by 2014. Old name reinstated in 2019.
A harmony of Styrian Goldings hops, combined with the flavour of ripe fruit, delivers a delicious taste of candied plum; and a blend of pale ale and crystal malt gives it an intense auburn colour.

Cask @ Lancashire Fold, Middleton. Rusty copper-red with a thick creamy head. It has a fine plum nose but more subtle (although still evident in) taste.

Cask at the Central Bar, JDW. Rich, semi-clear garnet pour with a slight, off-white head. Malty, fruity aroma with ripe plums and bread. Very sweet, juicy flavor, reminiscent of Juicy Juice, mixed berry. Some notes of plum and black raspberry, along with mild licorice and some faint, citrusy bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. The finish is sweet and still juicy, with strong breadiness coming through. Light, herbal hops linger in the throat with subtle hints of plastic. Maybe a touch artificial, but overall not that bad.

[cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Pours a deep reddish-brown with a small white head. Smells a bit like cough mixture. Initial taste very bitter, but sweet and syrup-y behind, with a flavour of plum syrup - if such a thing exists - ie it tastes of sweet, fake plum flavouring. Some dirty, mud flavours in there too, along with plenty of malt. This beer has plenty of flavour, but suffers badly from the fact that the bitterness and syrup-y sweetness conflict with, rather than compliment each other.

Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby, JDW, Canterbury. Dark copper with thin off white head. Fruits are a bit sour which balances the sweetish fruits, some caramel. Quite a bit of green apple. Fine but not really very plummy
