A slightly hoppy high blond Christmas beer with a tropical taste and aroma coming from the Australian hops Ella and the American hops Belma.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ O.B.E.R. Kestbierfestival 2014. (Thx!) Light hazy bright golden, little white head. Nose is thin plastic leaves. Taste is big on plastic bitterness, herbal, malts, perfume, spices, plastic herbs. Touch fizzy body. Nowhere near the level I would expect from a Préaris beer but nowhere as awful as ratings would suggest, still not very good.

Bottle at home. The colour is golden dark straw with off-white foam. Aroma of Belgian yeast, pale malt and some soap, DMS, sweet corn, spices and pears. The flavour has pale malt, spices, hay and hops. A little dry in the end. Has a slick mouth feel, and a balanced bitterness. Strange aroma but the taste is better. A nice hoppy touch, and is similar to a pilsener in fact.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Sandaker. Pours slightly hazy golden with a lasting white head. Surprisingly yeasty aroma with some fruity notes. The smell reminds me of the white "wine" I made with powder and yeast a long time ago. Not much flavours to speak of except some fruits and its still quite yeasty. Opens up a little bit after a while and gets drinkable enough, but it still reminds me of home made "wine". Medium sweet with some slightly sour notes and fairly light bitterness. Strange, and probably not a beer I would buy again.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Golden colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Malty body with hints of caramel and citrus. Bitter finish. Light body. Easy drinkable. Tastes like a hoppy pilsner.

Clear dark blond beer, creamy irregular white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, bit of banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, grains, hay, pretty bitter, some citrus. Aftertaste: malty, bit of caramel, slightly sweet, dry hoppy finish, grassy, very bitter, almost medicinal, herbal character. Much like a German pilsner.
