50cl bottle (as my beer #9100 @ Brewver, 7,3%) from Abbaye Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux, France. Head is big, tanned, good retention. Colour is dark brown with coppery hue against the light. Aroma is rich dark malts, roasted tones, dark fruits, caramel, dark bread. Taste is full malty base, dark bread, dried fruits, caramel, plums, coffee, nice balanced harmonic long lasting bitterness, medium carbonation, delicious.

Escanciada y degustada en jarra, color marrón oscuro, rojo al trasluz, espuma beige fina, cremosa y bien conservada. Aroma a malta tostada, pan negro, caramelo, fruta pasificada, chocolate con leche. En boca es sedosa, densa, los sabores replican perfectamente las notas aromáticas. De dulzor medio, terminando con bajo amargor y regusto ligerísimamente tostado, muy equilibrado, excelente a la par que sencillo. Gran cerveza, una doppelbock excelente.

On tap pours out dark brown topped with a sand head. Nose is nice sweet pit fruit some caramel toffee malts and a little spice. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts a touch of chocolate some pitfruit and spice.

Klare rötlich bräunliche Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, röstmalziger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, röstmalzig mit Toffee und Anklängen an Trockenfrüchten. Hohe Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, voller Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Appearance: foggy chestnut brown with ruby highlights. One finger tall beige head of medium retention. Aroma: rich esters, caramel & toast, bread, treacle, prune, dried dates. Taste: moderately sweet light bitter, , rich, intense, complex. Toast, dried fruits, treacle, esters,c hocolate hop. Mouth feel: medium to full body, soft to average carbonation. Overall: an elite doppelbock.

Taster at SBWF 2022. Darn brown with a medium head. Malt, caramel, some chocolate and hints of dried fruit.
