2012 vintage drunk 2020. Thin off white collar on an unclear light rust coloured still body. Syrup, sherry & brandy aroma. Medium to full bodied, oily, greasy, minimal carbonation & slick on the back leaving a cloying aft. Port, berries, syrup, jam, nutty & brandy tastes - Definately picking up the Calvados which is an Apple Brandy from Brittany in France.

250 ml bottle. 2017 vintage. Pours a clear reddish brown with almost no head and quite a bit of sediment for a small bottle.. Aromas of dry caramel, boozy oak, and toasted malts. Flavors of maple syrup, woody calvados, raisins, and rich roasted malts. Pronounced alcohol on the finish.

2006 bottle from Lithy. Orange color, hazy. Vinous aroma with calvados and apple. Sweet, oaky, alcoholic and dusty flavor with apple and calvados notes. The calvados barrel gives extra depth and a considerable dry out effect. Apple, raisin, pineapple. Lovely!

275ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb '19. Thanks Paul for this. Pours misty amber, foamy off-white head. Cobwebs on the nose. Fairly rich taste, big syrupy teeth-rattling sweetness, cardboard, cobwebs, dust, high oxidisation. Seems a bit past it unfortunately. Hard to finish my sample.

Bottle. RAD Beer. 2012 vintage. Copper brown. Light haze. Slimmest halo. Nose has raisins and dates. Fruity toffee. Ripe banana. Toffee apple. Rich vanilla notes. Taste is super sweet. Some vine fruit dryness. Touch of booze. Slick and oily on the palate. Fine carbonation. This held up really well, wherever itโ€™s been. Finish is a little dry, and a little vinous, with the sweetness present throughout.

18.11.2018, 0,275l bottle (2014 vintage) shared with Desverger @ Himmeriget:
No head, clear golden amber color. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish grainy, weeds, dusty grain, broth, fruit stones, minerals, alcohol, oak, raisins, hay, apple peel. Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish fruity, sugar, raisins, minerals, oak, dried fruits, grain, fruit stones, caramel malts, bark, alcohol. Medium bitterness, sweet sour-ish boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough, too sweet.

$9.99 bottle (2013 version), Wine Warehouse. Pours muddy brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet raisin, fig, alcohol, butterscotch. Flavor is sweet raisin - tons of it, alcohol, earth, caramel, tootsie roll. Very sweet - not cloying, but getting close. Wonderful flavor.

Refrigerated brown 2012 nip. Opaque burnt orange with small white head which dissipated quickly. Aroma is rich caramel malt, medium body, low carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is calvados, oak, and some caramel malt. Prefer the regular and port version to this.
