Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure.
Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full.
First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste.
A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more (original extract: 12.5%; abv: 5.5%).

0.5 l bottle shared with Brada at the Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Hazy golden, small to medium off-white head. Hints of banana in the aroma but lots of spice. Cloves at first but black pepper dominates even more. Flavour is hints of banana and bubblegum. Spices subdued but malts come up nicely. Smooth, creamy, balance to the fruity side. Minimal hops and bitterness. Sweet finish.

0.5 l bottle from 'Rudat', best before April 2026. Hazy, golden with a large, dense, stable, white head. Sweetish, rather yeasty-spicy aroma of banana, clove and some honey. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, fairly yeasty-spicy taste, a little fruity taste of banana, clove, some honey, traces of lemon peel and hints of vanilla, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly chalky finish. Medium body, rather effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Good Weizen, very well-balanced and harmonious.

500ml bottle that pours a fairly clean, golden colour with a big frothy white head, good retention and creamy lacing streaks. Gets a little hazed as it pours. Soft banana nose from the wheat with a touch of cloves. This continues into the taste. Hints of bubble gum in the aftertaste. A wet mouthfeel, not too thick with a fairly crisp finish. Some good orange aromas do come out at last pour, getting even more hazy. Quite a good, easy-drinking Wheat Ale with a touch more alcohol - which is nice.

Bottle at Hopa. Pours hazy, deep golden with a thicc, frothy, long lasting head. Nose is intense fruity esters and sweet grains. Taste is also sweet, showing notes of bubblegum, banana-like esters and bready malts. Closes with a long lasting sweetish finish, has a light yet full, chewy body and average carbonation. Noice.
