Leute Bokbier was first brewed in 1927. It was then called Leutebock and was a lager (bottom fermentation), a completely different beer than the current one. Production was stopped after a number of years. In 1997, 70 years later, Leute Bokbier was relaunched as a completely different beer.
Fun fact: the name “bokbier” does not refer to bokbier, but literally to the ''bok'' or buck.

F: huge, tan, long lasting. C: dark brown with red against the light, hazy. A: caramel, iron, chocolate, dark dried fruits, raisins. T: caramel, dark plums, chocolate, raisins, malty, herbal, hint of honey, medium body, medium carbonation, yeasty, smooth mouthfeel, good balanced but not very special, 0,33l bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck.

33cl bottle. Deep red color, clear, big creay yellowish to beige head. Aroma is light fruity, caramel, berries, vague citrus. Taste light sweetish and a bit sour. Light to medium body, initially unnoticeable alcohol, mild carbonation. Smooth finish.

Nagy, hosszú, bézs hab, barna szín. Malátás illat, némi karamellel. Malátás íz, némi karamellel és fűszerekkel karöltve. Testes, enyhén édeskés, alig keserű, mérsékelt, selymes szénsavassággal. Jól elbújtatott alkohol. Kellemes, könnyen csúszó, visszafogott ízvilágú sör.

Bottle, 0.33l, courtesy of CanCrusher. Pours hazy redbrown color with thin creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of dark fruits, toasted malt, alcohol, bread and some vanilla. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt, follows mildly roasted with dried fruits’ acidity, grassy and mild medicinal. Mouthfeel is warming, alcoholic and moderate spicy, while finish is medium bitter. Medium body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Tasty positive surprise...
