Draught @ Albion. Clear rich yellow with small frithy white head, faint vanilla aroma, low carbonation, slightly sweet caramel-vanilla taste with Belgian yeast characteristics, smooth body, long sticky sweet finish. Quite nice and smooth, albeit a little too sweet at the end.

Tap at the brewery - the golden monkey influence is pretty apparent here - like a lot of American tripels, it’s pretty sweet, but the sweetness is clean, the alcohol is well-masked, and the light esters and moderate spicy character balance the sweetness fairly well - not a banana bomb, like many American renditions, which is nice - however, it is mostly just sweet and lightly spicy - not as complex as you want from this style, but still fairly enjoyable.
